...more great music from the Astralwerks label
Tech, music, music, tech....I'm into both lately. Actually, music & tech criss-cross as I convert CD's to MP3's & LP's to CD/MP3.
I've been a big fan of the Astralwerks record label for years now, & have gotten hooked on a lot of their artists. All unique- all fresh. They also offer a few retro artists, which rounds out their offerings very nicely.
I found Beth Orton's music after reading a review in the NY Times. From there, I began to "test drive" some of their other artists & found a lot to like & to keep me coming back. I don't want to be 80 & listening to the same old stuff I listened to earlier in my life. I still like all of my previous music, but tastes change over time.
At this point, I'm pretty much into new-jazz/chill/folk-rock. There are quite a few artists that defy a genre tag- most Astralwerk music falls into this catagory- & these are the ones I'm drawn to. Beth Orton, Turin Brakes, Gemma Hayes, Kings of Convenience, Sia, AIR (no, not the 1980's "Air Supply" ~ :^P). All good, all different from anything you'll hear on the top 40 stations.
Here's one from the group AIR called "Cherry Blossom Girl"...
Time to chill...
